Kavita Radheshyam Dedicates Photoshoot to Silk Smitha
Kavita Radheshyam, the actress who raised eyebrows with her naked photoshoot for cruelty against animals, is now paying tribute to the late south Indian actress and sex symbol Silk Smitha.
The actress, now as a brand ambassador for “Smriti India: Save the Girl Child,” came up with a sizzling photoshoot which she dedicates to Smitha, who committed suicide in 1996.
“Silk Smitha was an actress who dared to make a mark of her own in a male-dominated film industry,” said Radheshyam. “She never followed any lobby, started as a small time make up artist in South cinema and went on to become a star.”

Kavita Radheshyam re-loads Silk Smitha
It looks like late Silk Smitha has become the flavor of the season and everybody’s icon this season. Kavita Radheshyam who shocked everyone by going nude for a photoshoot, raising her voice against animal cruelty, has now released yet another shocker!
Kavita Radheshyam, who is now selected as a Brand Ambassador for Smriti India (Save The Girl Child) has come up with this photoshoot which she dedicates and pays a homage to south Indian actress Silk Smitha who committed suicide in the year 1996.
According to Kavita, “Silk Smitha was an actress who dared to make a mark of her own in a male dominating film industry. She was never from any filmy background, not a ‘Star’ daughter, never followed any lobby-ism or group-ism.
Silk started as a small time make up artist in south cinema and went on to become a star in a very short period. I am a big fan of Silk Smitha and would like to salute and tribute my photoshoot to her”.
Kavita further added “I cannot understand why people are trying to talk or show Silk Smitha in a negative way, from what I have heard through my accurate sources from South, Silk was a very down to earth woman who went out of her way to help people in need.
I met a producer whom I cannot name, he had worked with her and Silk didn’t charge a single penny because the producer was in debt”.

My photographer Reena Khan and Creative Eswar both were kind enough to show me Silk Smitha’s cult Tamil hit film “Playboy”. After some long discussions, I could feel that my designer Babita Sharma and my photographers Reena Khan and Eswar were scared if they could do any justice to the photoshoot.
But now, after seeing the results, we all are more then happy. People literally started a comparison. Some of them also said that I can be today’s Silk Smitha, which is an honor for me”.
Kavita Radheshyam is awaiting the release of her upcoming hindi feature film 5 Ghantey Mien 5 Crore which is about to hit cinema’s all over on Eid day. But this could also be a fresh idea of gaining publicity for the film in the name of Silk Smitha?
On this Kavita said "The film is not yet completed. One song and some climax portions are still left to be shot, If this was a Publicity Stunt, I would have done this before the release of the Film".
First a Semi Naked photo shoot on the cruelty on animals in india, Then an over-coat jacket of Brand Ambassadorship of Smriti India (Save The Girl Child) organisation, Now again a sizzling hot full of expose photo shoot in the name of Tribute. If this is not a Film Publicity stunt, Than is this yet another way of grabbing media and public attention?
Only time will tell if this was a Silk Tribute or a walk to the path of (Indian Style) Kim Kardashian.
