Too much sex can be bad: Sunny Leone

Jism 2 star Sunny Leone, who was named the 2003 Penthouse Pet of the Year, is speaking out against sex! Yes, for cats and dogs!

Sunny Leone is featuring in a brand-new ad for PETA India. The ad urges people to get their cats and dogs spayed or neutered to deal with the homeless animal crisis.

PETA encourages all prospective cat or dog guardians always to adopt from an animal shelter or take in a homeless animal from the streets and never to buy from a breeder or pet store – both of which only add to the problem.

On its website, Peta India says: "Millions of loving and lovable animals are struggling to survive on India's streets. Many of them starve to death, are abused or are hit by vehicles.

Countless others are left to languish in animal shelters because there aren't enough good homes. Every time a cat or dog has a litter, it means fewer homes for the animals who are already languishing in shelters or roaming the streets. The solution is simple: always have your cat or dog sterilised."

Sunny Leone's "safe sex" obsession

Ever since Sunny Leone signed the dotted lines for Pooja Bhatt's Jism 2 co-starring Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh, she has consistently made headlines.

This will be her first Bollywood film, and buzz is that before shooting for the project, Sunny put a condition in front of Pooja. Apparently, the adult film actress wanted to see medical certificates of both her co-stars.

A source close to the film says: "Before Sunny was to join the cast and crew to shoot her portions, she sent an e-mail to Pooja Bhatt demanding a medical certificate of Randeep and Arunoday with whom she was scheduled to shoot lovemaking sequences. In all fairness she also sent her own medical certificate. Basically, she wanted to make sure that she was not going to shoot with anyone who had any life threatening disease (Read HIV)."

The source explains, "Pooja Bhatt then told her that this was not the norm in Bollywood unlike for the adult films that Sunny does. The director also explained to her that she would not require to film sequences that she normally shoots for her adult films."

Finally, apparently no such medical certificate was shown to Sunny. The source states, "No one is aware what exactly happened and how Pooja convinced her."

We wonder what Randeep and Arunoday had to say about this surprising demand.

Pooja Bhatt remained unavailable for comment.

Jay-Z and Beyonce rent holiday home for a staggering $400,000

Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles have splashed out $400,000 to rent a holiday home for the whole of August.

The couple are to take their seven-month-old daughter Blue Ivy to the Hamptons - an exclusive group of villages in Long Island, New York - for the first time by letting the 11-acre property on Halsey Lane in Bridgehampton, known as the Sandcastle, which is currently on the market for $43.5 million.

Jay and Beyonce will be able to relax in the property's 60-foot heated pool, which comes complete with underwater stereo system, and if they are feeling sporty then the two-lane bowling alley, virtual golf facilities, skateboard half-pipe or tennis court might be useful.

The Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It) hitmaker can also take the opportunity to teach her daughter some of the tricks of the showbiz trade in the home's "children's performing area", and the property also features squash, racquetball and basketball courts with moving walls and a retractable hoop, according to the listing on Corcoran.com. It's not the first time the house - which the Jonas Brothers were once thought to be interested in purchasing - has been rented out for a staggering fee.

In 2010, single mother Cheryl Mercuris paid $500,000 to let the abode for just two weeks in an attempt to find a billionaire husband - but she is said to have failed in her mission.

Adult entertainer Sunny Leone is in India to promote her debut film 'Jism 2'. Do you think she has any chances of making it big in Bollywood?
Undoubtedly, adult entertainer Sunny Leone is the biggest attraction of the film.
Sunny Leone is also very anxious about how people will perceive her as a Bollywood actress. And Pooja Bhatt claims that everyone will look at her differently after 'Jism 2'.

Sunny Leone has an international fan base and she is extremely attractive. If she can enhance her acting skills, she has very bright chances in Bollywood.
All her fans are eagerly waiting for her debut film 'Jism 2' to hit screens. (All the pictures have been taken from the social networking pages of Jism 2).

Sexy Sunny's husband overwhelmed by wife's success

Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone created a flutter at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport when she arrived with hubby Daniel Weber in tow this past weekend. People waiting to catch a glimpse of Sunny were in for a surprise because she conservatively turned out in a covered black kneelength dress with a scarlet belt. Sunny is in India to promote her Bollywood debut, Jism 2 which opens this Friday. She plays a porn star, Izna, in the erotic thriller.

Her husband Daniel was also a porn star, and he now manages her US-based company, Sun-Lust Productions, which produces adult films. Before entering the adult film industry, Daniel was a member of a band called The Spyderz. If onlookers couldn't get enough of Sunny's husband, Daniel himself seemed pleasantly surprised to see the crowd waiting to catch a glimpse of Sunny, besides the media that had gathered. As the paparazzi merrily clicked away, Daniel too took out his camera and took a few pictures of the crowd around, He looked dapper, displaying tattooed arms, fancy stubble and a designer hat.

"I am very excited to see the way Jism 2 has shaped up," a beaming Sunny said. "I can see there is a lot of curiosity about the film among the audience. I hope the film lives up to it," she added, as she waved and smiled at the people gathered around.

Sunny was missing in action at the launch of the first look of Jism 2 the past week because she was in the US. The launch party was attended by Jism 2 director Pooja Bhatt, Mahesh Bhatt and the film's two lead actors Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh. Sunny and Daniel now plan to attend the film's premiere, to be held on Thursday in Mumbai. Sunny had never hidden her marital status. Her husband used to hang out on the sets when she had come to India for the first time to shoot for the reality show Bigg Boss last year, before she entered the house.

Mallika Sherawat isn't married yet because she's "still waiting" for love

Actress Mallika Sherawat revealed that she is single because she is searching for true love.

"Love is the most important thing for me. I haven't got married yet because I am still waiting for it (love)," Mallika Sherawat said.

The actress spoke during the launch of the first look of her film Kismat, Love, Paisa, Dilli (KLPD).
Her co-star in the film, Vivek Oberoi, also gives prime importance to love.

"Money is okay, it comes and goes. But only the lucky ones find love," said the actor, who married Priyanka Alva in 2010.

Talking about the film's story, Vivek Oberoi said: "It's a story of one night in Delhi. The protagonist, Lucky Duggal, is in search of kismet (luck), love and paisa (money). He gets all that in Delhi, then loses it and gets it back again."

The movie is directed by Sanjay Khanduri.

Kareena gets catty about Katrina in Heroine?

As rivals for the number one actress spot, Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have never been friends, despite both actresses' close relationship with Salman Khan. Now, rumour has it that Heroine has given Kareena a chance to take aim at Katrina, at least on screen.

This report in The Times Of India says that one scene in the film has Kareena's character remark to a film journalist that another actress has only made it big because of the backing of her superstar boyfriend (in real life, Salman).

Not convinced she means Katrina? There's more. Kareena's character also goes on to say that the journalist should check the other actress' passport for her real name and nationality. That's pretty much what Deepika Padukone infamously said about Katrina on Koffee With Karan some seasons ago.

Kareena was reportedly reluctant to do the scene initially but was convinced by director Madhur Bhandarkar who argued in favour of the sizeable contingent of actresses non-Indian or partly Indian origin who come to Bollywood to try their luck.

Will Katrina retaliate? And how will Salman, who Kareena starred in the superhit Bodyguard and is close friends with, respond?

The new Official Poster of Karan Johar's Student of The Year

Karan Johar’s next  has been in news for quite some time now. Sidharth Malhotra is the new face Karan has chosen to give a break to. Whether it will be a multiplex asset or an over all box office hit, only time will tell. For now have a look at the 1st look poster of Student of the Year and comment what you think of it:
Student of the year it seems will be a hit amongst the young crowd. It won’t be wrong to call it a niche movie for a particular target group. So far Karan has handled the multiplex crowd pretty well. Let’s see what new he brings in his much awaited upcoming venture.

Bollywood's dark horse - Ajay Devgn

In all the hype and hoopla over the suzerainty of the Khans in BTown, one is often blindsided over the presence of another big star. His name is Ajay Devgn and he has proved to be a phenomenon in recent years.

Does Devgn get the credit that he deserves? Perhaps not. But the box-office respects his work and talent. Like another one of my favourite actors in Hollywood - Steve McQueen - Devgn has developed the ability to emote through his brooding eyes. I remember walking into his father, fight master Veeru Devgan's office long years ago. The tiny office near ISKCON in Juhu was virtually empty with a couple of people hanging out.

As luck would have it, one of the young guys hanging out turned out to be Ajay Devgn. Phool Aur Kaante featuring a gawky young man had prised open the box-office. Ajay Devgn had arrived doing a split on two motorcycles. My boss Pritish Nandy, always one to spot a trend, asked me to track the callow youth. That is how I landed in the Juhu lane.

I found Devgn charming and simple. His father Veeru sat in on the interview. There was an unmistakable intensity about Devgn. An intensity which was to light up celluloid many years later. Devgn did many forgettable but successful films thereafter. Some that I remember were Vijaypath, Diljale, Jigar, Suhaag and Naajayaaz, where he showed a spark or two.

Beginning of the winning streak

He also did fun riot Ishq with Aamir Khan - it was a runaway hit. But it was Mahesh Bhatt's Zakhm that became a defining moment in Devgn's career in 1999; his ability to emote was established here. It also won him the National Award. This was followed by a characterisation that became a true watershed in his oeuvre - Malik in Company - where he played Dawood. Virtually with no dialogues, with a mere tilt of his head he acted through his eyes, a la McQueen.

His unconventional looks may have actually helped his cause in playing characters with shades of grey - as Michael Mukherjee in Yuva, where he was upstaged by Abhishek Bachchan; as Yashwant Angre in Khakee, where he was pitted against Amitabh Bachchan; as Omkara in Omkara, where 'Langda Tyagi' Saif Ali Khan walked away with all the accolades; and of course, Sultan Mirza in Once Upon A Time in Mumbai, where Emran Hashmi held his own.

Somewhere along the way, despite many turkeys, Devgn cannily understood the 'formula'. The formula to make Devgn a boxoffice A-lister. It has not been easy for Devgn to break in and then ensconce himself as a top drawer at the box-office. But he has managed it with sheer dint of hard work and an unerring understanding of what the viewers want.

The road has been long and arduous for Devgn - from the standout performance as Bhagat Singh to Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam to Deewangee, for which he got the Filmfare best villain award to SP Amit Kumar in Gangajaal to Ajay Shastri in Apaharan to Bajirao Singham in Singham. Equally there have been disasters, none bigger than Raju Chacha, Main Aisa Hi Hoon, Shikar, Cash, Tezz, U Me Aur Hum and London Dreams.

His alliances with childhood buddy Rohit Shetty and Prakash Jha have worked very well for him; rather they have paid in spades for him. Some of his bravura performances in Gangajal, Apaharan, Rajneeti and Singham have turned him into one of the most bankable stars. The Golmaal franchise has contributed to his rise and rise. Interestingly, of the Rs.100-crore films, Devgn features in as many as three - Golmaal 3, Singham and Bol Bachchan. All three films have been directed by Rohit Shetty.

Ultra-exclusive Rs.100 crore club

It must be mentioned that the Rs.100-crore club is based on net domestic box-office revenues, which is the money that accrues to the distributor and/or producer. This club is the exclusive preserve of a handful of B-Town biggies - Aamir Khan with 3 Idiots and Ghajini, Salman Khan with Bodyguard, Ready and Dabaang, Hrithik Roshan with Agneepath, Shah Rukh Khan with Don 2 and Ra One, and latest entrant Akshay Kumar with Housefull 2 and Rowdy Rathore.

Increasingly as much as 40 per cent of all movie revenues now come from non-theatrical legs of the stool. The four-legged stool breaks down like this - domestic box-office, overseas territories, satellite rights, music and home video. Devgn has found his métier with a combination of action and comedy. In Bol Bachchan, he decided to combine the two, and though most people thought it was hare-brained, the movie has rocked at the box-office.

Many in the film industry liken Devgn to Dharmendra, who ploughed his furrow ceaselessly irrespective of who was the reigning superstar. From Rajendra Kumar to Shammi Kapoor to Rajesh Khanna to Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra was cock of the walk; he had his own audience that religiously watched his films.

He probably never got his due as an actor. I for one can never forget him in Satyakam. Between tomfoolery and action, Garam Dharam was a luminescent star, as big as they come, with a glorious run at the box-office; maybe he didn't know how to market himself effectively. Incidentally, he never won an award despite many great performances.

Devgn is like that, he creeps up on you, smoothly, you can run from him, but cannot hide. He has that ability with his screen presence, head tilted, blazing eyes, rasping voice to make you watch him. His relationship with Shetty for instance is one such thing, as symbiotic a relationship as two successful talented artistes should have.

In all this clutter of big films which bust box-office records, Devgn is ready with his next. Son of Sardar once again looks as if it will strike jackpot at the ticket counters. Again, as I said, Devgn seems to have worked out a formula - inane but zany comedy and action lifted from 'Madras cut' (southside cinema). Also remember that both Shetty and Devgn themselves are sons of two top fight masters and in their childhood, they must have seen their fathers perform.

Hungrily eyeing the mighty box-office

A number of big films are coming up on the marquee to tempt you into the theatres. The theatre of dreams has Salman's next offering, the much-anticipated Ek Tha Tiger, followed by Yash Chopra's as-yet-untitled remake of Daag featuring SRK, Katrina and Anushka, Aamir Khan's Talaash, Son of Sardar, and then of course Salman bhaijan's Dabaang 2 in December.

Prima facie, it will be safe to say that all five look like sure-shot winners. Actually the very contours of box-office as we knew it have changed dramatically. The onset of cineplexes and multiplexes and their concentration in two cities have altered the boxoffice balance once and for all. Fifty per cent of all domestic boxoffice revenues come from the National Capital Region and Greater Mumbai. And 60 per cent of this comes from multiplexes in these two regions.

Central Provinces Central India (CPCI) and Rajasthan contribute 10 per cent; East India comprising Bihar and Bengal predominantly contributes a similar 10 per cent. Nizam and Punjab share another 10 per cent, while the rest of the country accounts for the rest. The race to Rs.100 crore is a function of this new cinema paradigm in India and the arrival of the opening weekend phenomenon.

Raju as Devgn is known, though his real name is Vishal, has understood the mechanics of this new market order. In conjunction with Rohit Shetty, he is making films suited for the consumption patterns of this new multiplex generation. And it is working like clockwork.

He is the real kala ghoda or dark horse in the joust between the Khans, the one who sneaks ahead blindsiding one and all. Twenty years ago, Pritish Nandy had said to me, "Watch out for this boy, there is something about him." He called it right.

Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum 1st Saturday Box Office

Super hero Shahrukh Khan springs back into Bachchan’s camp! Visits Bundle of joy "Beti B” !

The ‘King Khan' zoomed across on his gorgeous four wheels personally to take a peek at the Bachchan’s bundle of joy “Beti B” Aaradhya. Beti B has always been whispered about by the grapevine of Bollywood much before she was born. Aaradhya Bachchan is one “famous international child”. One of the first celebrities who reached across the globe was the “eminent and well known" Oprah Winfrey and now Shahrukh, high on an emotion drive zipped over to “Jalsa” to play with the Bachchan family's little kiddo.

Shah Rukh’s visit
The little dazzling celebrity at 'Jalsa’ had the King Khan drive across to say hi to her. Khan had his hands full with his movie commitments and had not met AbhiAsh’s “apple of the eye" till now. Shah Rukh Khan is famous for not visiting the homes of his B-wood contemporaries “socially”. He stepped down a notch, climbed onto an emotional bandwagon and made an exception for Aaradhya. He picked up his car to drive down personally to “Jalsa” the Bachchan home, on Wednesday.

Shahrukh Bachchan Bonding

Shahrukh’s “close buddy” Farah Khan was at the Bachchan residence and Shahrukh was visiting bosom pal Hritik Roshan who lives nearby. The moment he got to know Farah was at the Bachchan residence; King Khan got the perfect excuse and decided to hop over to have a glimpse of the little one. It’s a known fact that all was not perfect in the past in “Khan Bachchan relationship paradise".

Shahrukh probably felt it was time to bury the hatchet permanently and let bygones be bygones. He had messed up in the past when he had taken a dig at Bachchan junior. Now was the right time to make amends and Shahrukh Khan needed no second call and pranced over to “Jalsa”.

Baby Aaradhya

The little Bachchan is listed amongst the celebrities recognized all over the world. She was occupying headlines on the tabloids much before she came into the arms of her Ex-Miss.World mother, Aishwarya. The Little Bachchan damsel has not been exposed to the shutterbugs till now; she has been kept away from the keen public eye.

A lucky Shahrukh got not only a glimpse of the little baby but also played enthusiastically with the little baby. He also gave some “fatherly tips” to the Junior Bachchan.

Still trying to be superior Mr. Khan? What was the real purpose of the visit Mr. Khan? Was it Beti B really or do we hear a tweet wishing a very Farah-Shahrukh “Happy New Year”?

I've never been conscious of my body: Bipasha Basu

Bipasha Basu, who has posed in itsy-bitsy clothes for a bold poster of Raaz 3, says she had no reason to hire a body double for the shoot as she is comfortable with her toned body.

Read: Bipasha Basu is explosive on the first poster of Raaz 3

"I have always been comfortable in my skin and never been conscious of my body," Bipasha said in a press statement.

According to insiders, producers were reluctant to approach Bipasha for the shoot, given its controversial nature and had considered using a body double, and later morphing the actress's face onto the model's body.

However, Bipasha insisted on shooting for it herself.

"When I learnt about the concept (of the poster), I decided to do it. I had no qualms. It's my movie and I should be shooting for the poster. I understand that it was required to show the film's theme in the right light, so it was the right decision," she added.

The poster of the horror film features Bipasha in black shorts and a black bikini top. She exudes confidence with her newly toned, washboard stomach.

Raaz 3 is directed by Vikram Bhatt, presented by Fox Star Studios and produced by Vishesh Films. It also features Emraan Hashmi and Esha Gupta.

The film will release on September 7, 2012.

Bipasha Basu is explosive on the first movie poster of Raaz 3

It's raining sexy film posters. First, Kareena Kapoor left a trail of dropped jaws with her provocative Heroine first look. And now, Bipasha's taking over with the poster of Raaz 3.

The third installment of the horror series from the Bhatt brothers also stars Esha Gupta and Jacqueline Fernandez, but it's all Bipasha on the poster. Oh yes, and Emraan Hashmi, without whom there is no making a Bhatt movie.

Bipasha, an old hand at playing seductive characters in films such as Jism, Ajnabee and No Entry, displays her impressive body on the poster of Raaz 3 grimly watched by Emraan. And since this is a horror movie, disfigured, demonic hands encircle her from behind.

Bipasha also appeared in the first Raaz (2002), opposite then boyfriend Dino Morea. She was absent from the sequel, which featured Emraan and Kangna Ranaut.

Chitrangada Singh's lavani follow up to Vidya and Katrina

Chitrangada gyrates to the beats of dhol as she dances to I Wanna Faqat You. The song has been sung by Sunidhi Chauhan.

KBC 6 Coming Soon...

The makers of the popular game show featuring Amitabh Bachchan, 'Kaun Banega Crorepati', are back with sixth season, likely to start in September or August-end.

KBC is the Indian version of the UK game show `Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?'. It was first aired in 2000, and marked Bachchan's TV debut. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan tried to fill his shoes in the third edition, but the Big B later returned to anchor the fourth and fifth seasons.

With `the power of knowledge' as the central theme, the makers of the show today announced `Sirf Gyaan Hi Aapko Aapka Haq Dila Sakta Hai' as the communication theme for the sixth season.

"The challenge was how we should take the philosophy to the next level. We came up with `Gyaan hi aapko aapka...' because it is a great factor to empower people. One of the most important parts of the show is how do we democratize the entire KBC," said Danish Khan, Senior Vice President & Marketing head, SET.

Bachchan underwent an abdominal surgery in February and was advised rest for sometime. There were reports that he might not host the show, but he is back. "There is nobody like Mr Bachchan. His appeal transcends across all age groups. He can relate and connect with people of all backgrounds. His command over the language - both Hindi, English and many other local languages, his humility and sincerity are the factors that drive his popularity," Khan said.

The show will be aired on prime time on Sony. "We can't tell the exact slot as we are brainstorming the right time. But certainly it will be a prime time slot," he said.

Dabangg Actor Salman Khan’s wax figure goes to New York

Bollywood's Dabangg Actor Salman Khan will soon join fellow stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan in the “Bollywood Zone” of wax figures at Madame Tussauds museum in New York. “Salman Khan is one of Bollywood’s most enduring and recognizable stars,” said Bret Pidgeon, general manager of Madame Tussauds New York.

“Bollywood exploded on the American pop culture scene several years ago and has become one of our most exciting entertainment categories.”Khan’s figure, on loan for three months from Madame Tussauds London, was launched in January 2008, after Khan beat nine other Indian mega-stars - including Madhuri Dixit, Hrithik Roshan, Lata Mangeshkar and Abhishek Bachchan - in an August 2007 public poll to choose the “Next Bollywood Star” that would get a wax likeness. Khan personally chose and donated the black top and denim jeans for his wax figure.

Madonna booed at Paris concert

Madonna on stage in Edinburgh last week as part of her MDNA tour.
Madonna is having a rough time over in Europe, with her latest Paris concert ending in a chorus of angry boos over the singer's super-short 45-minute performance.

Many from the crowd shouted "refund" as the singer beat a hasty exit, reports Sky News. Tickets to the concert cost upwards of €300 ($A356.65).

This isn't Madonna's first run-in with the French, having already tripped up with far-right National Front leader Marine Le Pen by displaying photos of her decorated with a swastika. The party, which won 18 per cent of the vote in this year's presidential elections, promptly sued her.

"I know that I made a certain Marine Le Pen upset with me," Madonna said at the Friday concert, reported the celebrity magazine Female First. "And it's not my intention to make enemies ... it's my intention to promote tolerance," the singer told the crowd.

France has gotten relatively light treatment in comparison with the rest of Madonna's wild and crazy MDNA world tour.

In Turkey she decided to show a little boob and succeeded in offending many in the 55,000-strong crowd in the mostly Muslim country.

But nothing beats her Rome appearance, where she decided to yank down her pants in order to show off what MTV described as a "bare(ish) bottom."

Still, Parisians were pretty mad at Madonna over her short appearance at Olympia Club, which was a last-minute addition to her tour schedule, according to Britain's Mirror.

The Queen of Pop's next appearance is set for Warsaw on the first of August, but a group of Catholic youths there are already calling for the show to cancelled in response to the singer's provocative behaviour, according to Agence-France Press.

'I lived in Twin Falls, Idaho, and there weren't a lot of shops,' she said.

'I learned very early on to go to the Salvation Army and just little vintage stores, and create my own looks. Oftentimes tragic...'

'There were some very original looks that I put together. I had my goth phase, which was pretty... dramatic.'

Another source of knowledge and inspiration, has of course, been Mad Men.
Setting trends: Christina shot to fame as office bombshell Joan on Mad Men
She credits the show's costume designer, Janie Bryant, with steering her towards fitted silhouettes that flatter her curvy figure.

'I've learned a lot from being on Mad Men actually, as far as tailoring, silhouettes and things like that,' she continued. 'Janie Bryant, our costume designer, she's taught me a lot.

'I think I have a lot more pencil skirts. I used to like very sort of 1920s baggy, sort of floral lacy things that probably weren't the most flattering on me, but were just so gorgeous that I wore them anyway.'

Movie Review: Ice Age 4: Continental Drift

Ice Age 4: Continental Drift
Director: Steve Martino and Mike Thurmeier
Voices: Ray Romano, John Leguizamo
Rating: **

In movies, good things rarely come in fours. From the Jaws and Lethal Weapon to the more recent Pirates of the Caribbean and Shrek series, fourth installments have usually been quite superfluous. Ice Age 4: Continental Drift is no exception.

The trio of prehistoric critters, first introduced back in 2002, embarks on yet another digitally animated 3D adventure. This time around, their journey is dispiritingly dull.

Working from a woefully thin script, co-directors Martino and Thurmeier fail to bring any panache to the proceedings.

As in the previous outings, the only clever gags involve the squirrel-rat hybrid whose dogged pursuit of an acorn triggers a continental cataclysm.

Among the victims of the nutty shenanigans is a woolly mammoth (dubbed in world-weary tones by Romano) that gets swept out to sea on an ice floe. Separated from his mate (Queen Latifah) and their teenage daughter, the paternalistic elephant is determined to reunite with his family.

Accompanied by a sabre-toothed tiger (haughtily voiced by Denis Leary) and a hapless sloth (Leguizamo) the mismatched pals must also outwit a band of seafaring brigands led by an orangutan (Peter Dinklage).

The all-new menagerie of marauders includes a panther pirate (Jennifer Lopez), a multi-tasking badger and a wacky walrus (Nick Frost). Wanda Sykes is a welcome addition to the core voice cast as the daft but resourceful granny.
The target kiddie audience for Ice Age 4: … will likely giggle at the mere sight of the colourful cartoon creatures. As for the rest, they are unlikely to be clamouring for another sequel any time soon.

'Dark Knight Rises' Expected To Top Box Office Again In Wake Of Tragedy

Box-office analysts are predicting a second weekend of at least $60 million for the last entry in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy.

"The Dark Knight Rises" is expected to top the box office this weekend, even as a sizable portion of moviegoers remain hesitant to return to theaters in the wake of the recent national tragedy. Just last week, 12 people were killed and 58 wounded during a midnight showing of the new Batman movie in Aurora, Colorado.

Movie Review: The Dark Knight Rises

Research firm NRG reported that roughly 20 percent of people polled said they were reluctant to head back to the movies. Box-office watchers still predict a second weekend of at least $60 million for Christopher Nolan's last entry in his Batman trilogy, on the heels of its $160 million three-day debut.

"Theatrical exhibition has never witnessed a tragedy like this inside a movie theater, so it is extremely difficult to gauge the ramifications of this nightmare scenario," Jeff Bock, box-office analyst for Exhibitor Relations, told MTV News. "This was mindless violence at its worst. One thing is for certain: Families will be much more cautious about bringing their brood to the theaters [for a while]. It's a natural reaction to do everything you can as a parent or guardian to protect the ones you love.

"In that respect, this tragic event may hurt [the box office], although even discussing that seems a bit trite when we're talking about the loss of lives," he added. "Hopefully, the fear and sadness this creates will not override the joy we take out watching movies and living our lives."

Last weekend, Warner Bros. opted not to release opening numbers until the following Monday. The other major studios followed suit. Earlier this week, "The Dark Knight Rises" star Christian Bale visited some of the victims of the Colorado shooting in the hospital while various folks associated with the film expressed their sympathy.

Bock pointed out that audiences looking for comedic escapism will have "The Watch" — starring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade — as a new choice this weekend, in addition to the mega-hit "Ted."

"The Watch" stars the ensemble as a group of neighbors who stumble upon an alien invasion. The new R-Rated comedy had some unfortunate challenges of its own due to real-life gun violence. The film's original title, "Neighborhood Watch," was changed following the alleged shooting of Trayvon Martin by self-appointed Neighborhood Watch captain George Zimmerman. Bock predicted a $28 million debut for the flick.

For "Step Up Revolution," the first in the "Step Up" series to not be financed by Disney, Bock predicted a modest $13 million debut. "Without the distribution muscle of Disney, it's doubtful this fourth incarnation will offer up any new moves," he explained.

Whatever the longterm impact of the tragic mass murder in Denver on theaters, industry folks were optimistic that movie fans will prove resilient.

"My heart — and everyone's, I'm sure — goes out to the victims and families," Bock said. "I still can't believe this actually happened as it will take quite some time to fully comprehend this tragedy."

Natalie Portman sends legal notice to Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan's revelation that he's doing a romcom with Hollywood star Natalie Portman next seems to have stirred up quite a storm. Although the Bollywood actor-producer maintained that he was joking, it seems the representatives of the Oscar winning actress for 'Black Swan' didn't share his sense of humour. Buzz was that they had issued a legal notice to Khan to ensure that a clarification of his statements was put out.

According to a source connected with the agency that handles Hollywood actress's work, "The story of Saif doing a romcom with Natalie wasn't taken lightly by the agency. They were wondering how someone was making such claims about their star client as they're not aware of any such development. So they decided to set right the wrong news that has been going around since the report first came out early last week."

Our informer further adds that after the legal notice from Natalie's agency reached Khan, he clarified his stance on Saturday. "It was a joke. I'm sorry. I'm just annoyed with speculation on all aspects of my life. I might just start making up stories to entertain myself," he said. While he avoided any mention of the notice, a source close to Saif maintained that they had not got any notice from anyone in this regard.

However, our source associated with the Hollywood star's agency asserted, "Considering the situation got a little too serious for Saif's 'joke', as he calls it, it's but obvious that they'd deny receiving any notice."

Movie Review: Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum

Director: Sachin Yardi

Cast: Riteish Deshmukh, Tusshar Kapoor, Neha Sharma, Sarah Jane Dias
'Sex' and 'comedy' are two of the most significant elements of Bollywood films but haven't been often spoken in the same breath. So when the Kyaa Kool Hain Hum series attempts to do so, however juvenile the adult humour might appear, the combo is still tempting and tantalizing. The good part is that the film has an absolute unapologetic approach for its genre and never gets visually vulgar.

Ask for some storyline and you get a bunch of SMS jokes and some ancient amusing email forwards clubbed together to form a feeble plotline. So there is Adi (Tusshar Kapoor), an aspiring actor who believes that his stars will shine if he is with Simran (Neha Sharma) and they keep playing Kismat connection. And there is smalltime DJ Sid (Riteish Deshmukh) who falls for Anu (Sarah Jane Dias), whose wardrobe malfunction he was responsible for.

Until the premise shifts Goa where the girls get a chance to emerge out of the sea in bikinis and even Tusshar Kapoor decides to get (his) 'back' in action. Adi is under the impression that Simran is a lesbian and Anu assumes Sid to be gay. Amidst all this supposed homosexuality, a pug is impregnating bitches left, right and center.

Compared to the 7-year old prequel, the sequel has somewhat streamlined story flow though that's not saying much. With no crudity in picture, this sex-comedy largely relies on double-meaning dailogues to incite humour. Writer-director Sachin Yardi refers to the age-old stock of adult jokes, one might have comes across from their school to social-media days. With scarcity of sex-comedies, most of these gags are unused in cinema yet will be acknowledged by most men, in general. Every second line in the film has a double-innuendo and wherever there isn't, it's a sad PJ. At times, the dialogues even define a scene.

But beyond the hall-of-fame humour, the film also cracks jokes on several topical elements from Commissioner Dhoble to a nymphomaniac dog that conveys its lust in Akshay Kumar style from Housefull 2. A movie-memorabilia enthusiast has everything from Vicky Donor's sperm container to Delhi Belly's orange juice. And the most original one is a dig on Sunny Leone. Needless to add, there are gay gags in abundance, of which Riteish's mid-air homosexual encounter is hilarious.

The film occasionally drags in the second half and one mushy number, in the otherwise multicoloured sound-n-dance sequences, seems out of place. Thankfully, Riteish Deshmukh gets a better billing in the second half with a meatier subplot while Tusshar's track getting one-dimensional. The production values of the movie often seem substandard. Goa never looks glossy and despite the endless youthful potential, the frame never seems flamboyant or funky. And imagine... a spoof on Devdas is shot in a public transport bus! Rather than the dig, Bhansali would die of the canvas downsizing.

Like the insufficiency of technical finesse, Yardi intermittently falls slack on the film's comic timing. From Rohit Shetty's pointless cameo, Anupam Kher's fascination for Progeria prototypes from Paa to Kavin Dave's forced sleepwalking subplot, the director incorporates elements that do not contribute much to the central track or comedy.

When it comes to comedy, Riteish Deshmukh is expected to rule supreme and overshadow everyone. So is the case here with him getting the best of scenes, lines and gags. Tusshar Kapoor doesn't match up to him (the comparison is inevitable) but still manages to stand on his own. Both female leads, Sarah Jane Dias and Neha Sharma look hot but some better cinematography could have made them look sizzling. Anupam Kher is animated but suits the part.

Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum might not be the best sex-comedy ever. But then how many of the rare species do we have in Bollywood? So support the cause and enjoy as long as it lasts.

Verdict: Good

Kareena Kapoor takes a dig at ‘foreigner’ Katrina Kaif!

New Delhi: Our little birdie who had been spying on the sets of ‘Heroine’ has dropped by to give us a very entertaining piece of information. Well, the news is that actress Kareena Kapoor has taken a very straightforward jibe at rival Katrina Kaif.

It all happened while shooting for the film that a scene required her to interact with a journalist, and bitch about another leading actress (Katrina) that how she has climbed up the success ladder only because her boyfriend is a top star (Salman Khan). She then goes on to add that her passport should be checked to identify her real name, age and country of origin. Even the actress who plays the role of this ‘foreign’ actress is said to have a resemblance to Kat!

Don’t you feel a sense of déjà vu after going through this statement? The fact is that Katrina’s passport issue was brought to light by Deepika Padukone on the TV show ‘Koffee with Karan’ which caused a lot of buzz in Bollywood circles.

It has also been said that initially Kareena was reluctant to perform this scene but was taken into confidence by director Madhur Bhandarkar who reasoned that these days there are many aspiring actresses who come to India to try their luck in films.
